Lead Senior Recruiter: European Engineering Markets (India Based)

We identify and place the engineering, technical and leadership talent that these sectors depend on: from project directors and design leads through to specialist commissioning, quality and compliance roles. Positions are both based in India, and must have existing client and candidate networks in Europe respectively.

The Opportunity

Awilli Group is building a permanent recruitment desk covering the European market, spanning semiconductors, data centres, pharma and life sciences, and advanced engineering. This role is physically based in India, recruiting and selling directly into the European market from there, for an established permanent recruiter ready to take ownership of a specialist market.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for permanent placements into Europe, delivered remotely from India.
• Build and maintain candidate networks within semiconductors, data centres, pharma and life sciences, and advanced engineering.
• Deliver consistent fee generation against agreed targets.
• Manage client relationships and expand mandate coverage within existing accounts, working core hours aligned with European time zones from an India base.
• Contribute to sourcing strategy, market mapping, and business development activity.
• Support the build out of a team as the desk grows, including onboarding and mentoring.
• Maintain accurate pipeline and candidate records in line with Awilli Group standards.

Requirements

• Previous industry experience in semiconductors, data centres, and/or life sciences required, either from recruiting into these sectors or from working within them directly.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in permanent recruitment, gained within a recruitment agency rather than an in-house or internal talent acquisition function.
• Experience recruiting into European clients and candidate markets.
• Active candidate networks within relevant specialist markets across Europe.
• Consistent record of delivering substantial placement fees and earning commission against target.
• Comfortable in a high performance, commission driven environment.
• Ambition to build a team and move into a leadership role.
• Fluency in English required.
